Where the pioneers Lay

The oldest cemetery in a town with roots in the 1790s

Link to SEE names of the old pioneer burying ground
The East Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield NY is a community cemetery located adjacent to our village green (Elton Park) at 6 Park Place just off Route 5 & 20, near handsome old churches and a towering granite Civil War monument.  There is also an entrance off Main Street across from the Town Hall.  The cemetery is managed in perpetuity by a not-for-profit citizen association.  Although begun by the Congregationalists, it is non-denominational and open to all.  Grave sites are available--traditional, ash burial, and we now offer green burials and house pet burials (with owner). Fees are competitive and regulated by New York State.
