East Bloomfield village pioneer Benjamin Keyes reserved land "on the hill" for a church in 1798, completed 1808, and torn down just one generation later to make way for an academy (now the Bloomfield Historical Society). The church's pioneer burying ground was re-located to its present location in 1838. A not-for-profit association of community members has long overseen this beautiful wooded cemetery which spills down a glacial hill facing the morning sun. Our "holding area" is the original village Town Hall, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Current Trustees are Paul Hudson, President; Mike Woodruff, Secretary; Debra Robinson, Treasurer; Judy Stewart, Vice President; Carol Altemus; Dave Walters; and Carey Richards. We need one or two new trustees! If interested, contact Paul Hudson at 585-330-0889. You need not be a Bloomfield resident and we meet three times per year.
